The project
Scope
A long-held family beach house in South Golden Beach, brought up to size for a growing family. The work added a two-storey extension to the rear of the existing house, with an enlarged deck space, a new laundry, robe storage and additional living and bedroom space.
Approach
Family beach houses have their own character: years of accumulated memory, original detailing worth keeping, a sense of place that should not be lost in the rebuild. The project worked to preserve the feel of the original house while adding the space the family needed.
The build is one of Canstruct's recent Byron Shire projects and represents the kind of beach house extension work that has become increasingly common in the local catchment.
